Background: Different kind of herbs are grown in Qazvin. Identification of medicinal herbs as genetic resources is of great importance. Objective: To collect and identify the medical herbs of Qazvin province. Methods: 250 species of native vegetation were investigated from 1994 to 1997. Medical herbs were identified based on the existing references and local observations. Findings: The findings indicated that among 250 species about 40 species are important for medical reasons. Some of these species have limited growing locations but some are distributed over a wide area. Conclusion: The study revealed that some of these plants are in danger of disappearance.
